This program has been developed to promote a greater awareness of sleep apnoea and covers the latest research findings, diagnosis of patients and current treatment options. Upon full and successful  completion of the course, you will earn 40 (Category 1) CPD points towards your continuing professional education requirements set out by the RACGP.

Participation in this program will equip you with the skills to:

  • Discuss the importance of healthy sleep and the characteristics of sleep disordered breathing with patients.
  • Recognise the symptoms and risk factors for sleep disordered breathing and sleep apnoea.
  • Appropriately recommend the screening and diagnostic options available for suspected sleep disordered breathing.
  • Interpret sleep test results and apply appropriate treatment.
  • Use a monitored management plan for the treatment of positively diagnosed obstructive sleep apnoea.


Program outline:

  • 2 hour Presentation and Interactive Workshop
  • 3 hour Online Module
  • 1 hour "Back at Practice" Online Consultation Activity

*All course components are required to be completed in order to attain 40 category 1 CPD points.

The flexible online component allows you to continuously save your progress as you go. Your participation will include case studies, journal research, interactive application of knowledge and reinforcing activities designed around ongoing patient care models.

This program
focuses on the role of the primary care provider in assessing fitness to drive in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA). It will provide the participating GP with state-based legislative reporting requirements and also outline liability in managing and monitoring patients with OSA. Upon full and successful completion of the course, you will earn 4 (Category 2) CPD points towards your continuing professional education requirements set out by the RACGP.


Participation in this program will equip you with the skills to:

  • Identify high risk patients whose OSA may affect their ability to drive safely.

  • Understand and discuss legislative reporting obligations relevant to state/territory.

  • Implement appropriate management and monitoring of the condition.

  • 1 hour presentation
  • 30 minutes case studies
  • 30 minutes interactive workshop
Maintaining CPAP Compliance & Introduction to Alternate Therapies (4 CPD points)

This program has been developed to provide participants with skills in understanding the importance of CPAP compliance and being able to recommend the best sleep apnoea therapy solution to patients. Upon full and successful  completion of the course, you will earn 4 (Category 2) CPD points towards your continuing professional education requirements set out by the RACGP.


Participation in this program will equip you with the skills to:

  • Identify and understand key issues which may affect CPAP compliance.
  • Discuss, implement and review patient management plans for sleep apnoea treatment.
  • Suggest suitable second line therapies where CPAP is not tolerable.


Program outline:

  • 1 hour presentation
  • 30 minutes case studies
  • 30 minutes interactive workshop
